Skip it if you…

Our take on The Tawashi
Its stage-based format keeps the action focused, but the five-stage structure limits the amount of new progression. Disposable weapons also make loadout choices temporary rather than persistent.
What is The Tawashi?
The Tawashi is a vertical-scrolling shooter focused on dodging enemy bullets and firing at enemies.
Select a stage and one of five difficulty settings, then defeat its boss before losing all lives. Hits reduce HP, and losing all HP costs a life; clearing a stage restores HP. Destroy present boxes to obtain temporary weapons, collect different treasures to increase starting lives, and replay cleared stages or the next unlocked stage. Five stages are available. Controls support smartphones, gamepads, and keyboards, including precision movement. The game has no bombs or 1UP pickups. Recorded highlights are saved as GIF files without sound.
How The Tawashi plays
- 01Five difficulty levels
- The settings span from beginner-oriented play to the highest challenge, with harder levels allowing higher possible scores.
- 02Stage replay
- Cleared stages and the next unlocked stage remain available for repeat play and practice.
- 03Treasure-based extra lives
- Collecting 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 450, or all different treasure types grants one additional starting life at each threshold.
- 04Multiple control methods
- Control options cover smartphones, gamepads, and keyboards, including precision movement.
- 05GIF highlights
- Recorded highlights are saved as GIF files, without sound recording.
