- Adventure players who prefer searching for clues and solving puzzles to find an exit

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad range of modes may find the current experience centered on escape, since survival mode is described as a future addition.
- Players wanting open-ended survival play may find the escape objective and its two routes restrictive.
- Players looking for cooperative play should note that co-op is described as a future addition.
Our take on The Frost
The escape-focused structure gives the game a clear objective, but limits the current experience to finding a way out; the survival and cooperative modes described are future additions.
What is The Frost?
After a plane crash, the player is alone in a remote winter landscape and must find a way to escape.
Hunger, thirst, and cold are tracked as survival indicators; reaching zero in any one means death. Players search for food, water, and warm places, and find notes left by people who were there before. Escape mode involves following clues across forest locations, solving puzzles, and choosing between two escape routes. The game also describes a survival mode focused on lasting as long as possible in harsh winter conditions, with shelter-building, food and water gathering, and equipment creation. Survival mode and cooperative play are stated as future additions, not current features.
How The Frost plays
- 01Three survival indicators
- Hunger, thirst, and cold each need monitoring because any one reaching zero results in death.
- 02Clue-led escape routes
- Notes and hints found across forest locations guide players toward one of two ways out.
- 03Survival supplies
- Players search for food, water, and sheltered warmth while facing the winter conditions.
- 04Environmental puzzles
- Several puzzles must be solved as part of surviving and escaping.
