Our take on The Dungeon Beneath
Rather than making moment-to-moment commands the center of tactical combat, the game places preparation before the fight: arrange the party, choose equipment, and then watch the group battle automatically. Its dungeon progression also replaces a fixed route with changing layouts and repeated runs.
What is The Dungeon Beneath?
Build a party from five heroes and dozens of characters, then descend through a dungeon whose layout changes between runs.
Battles begin with tactical placement on a board; after positioning, the party fights automatically. Campfires provide opportunities to level party members or replace them. Each character can carry up to three items that alter statistics and abilities, while rare artifacts apply special effects to the whole party. The game combines repeated dungeon journeys with changing enemies, hidden artifacts, party composition choices, equipment decisions, and randomly generated layouts. Its structure centers on preparing a group before each encounter rather than directly controlling attacks during the battle.
