Our take on Need More Troops
The focus on a massive army can make size seem decisive, but formations, divisions, positions, and behavior choices also shape each encounter. Combat becomes automated after setup, making preparation the main form of player interaction.
What is Need More Troops?
Need More Troops follows a journey from the player capital through five island zones to a main boss.
The adventure map is randomly generated and includes enemies, gold mines, and mana pools. Gold can increase troop growth or attack, while mana raises the leader’s level and unique trait. Players choose a Keeper, Assassin, or Necromancer, each with a different effect. Battles begin after decisions about participating troops, reserves, troop divisions, deployment positions, and behavior choices for each division. The player does not directly participate in combat. Enemy armies attack every 30 turns through a portal threat, and these forces grow stronger over time. Five difficulty levels alter enemy numbers and the rewards for defeating them.
How Need More Troops plays
