Is Predictors worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike players who want changing maps and repeat runs
- Small groups who prefer coordinated simultaneous commands
- Fantasy strategy players who want selectable difficulty and character skills
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed campaign may bounce off the repeated loop of changing gear, adjusting difficulty, and starting another run.
- Players who prefer real-time combat may hit a wall when actions wait for simultaneous orders to resolve.
- Players wanting more than three hero classes may find the character selection narrow.
- Players seeking a campaign without a defined ten-portal objective may find the structure restrictive.
Our take on Predictors
The bounce point arrives when simultaneous orders resolve: players must account for the whole group before seeing the outcome. Those expecting individual turn control may struggle further once changing maps, class skills, artifacts, and enemy scaling add more decisions to each round.
What is Predictors?
Predictors is a turn-based roguelike for solo play or groups of up to four.
Players control a knight, archer, or mage through procedurally generated Dark Forest maps, issuing orders that all characters carry out simultaneously. The campaign requires passing through ten Dark Portals and defeating the Lich Lord. Six types of enemies include skeletons, dark knights, skeleton mages, ghosts, and vampires. Heroes develop three class skills and three general skills covering defensive, aggressive, and mobile play. Witch huts offer six passive skills, while artifacts can be improved with runestones. Difficulty can be adjusted between playthroughs, with enemy scaling for multiplayer.
