Our take on The Charming Empire
The game puts its emphasis on voiced character scenarios and illustrated romance, so the heroine has no spoken performance and the puzzle games from the smartphone version are left out. Its political setting adds conflict around the relationships without changing the dating-simulation focus.
What is The Charming Empire?
The Charming Empire is a dating simulation set in the Taisho Roman era of Japanese history.
It follows Amane Kosaka, who is taken from her rural home to the imperial capital by her brother, Soshi Amazaki, the current ruler. At the royal palace, she discovers that the empire is affected by dictatorship and a corrupt organization operating in secret. The story includes five main characters connected to the heroine: a cafe owner, a captive former prince, a bodyguard, an aide, and the empire’s lord.
Main scenarios have full voice acting from named performers, while the heroine has no voice. This release includes the main scenarios previously released as paid content for the smartphone application, but does not include the puzzle games. The artwork is illustrated by Mitsuya Fuji.
