Our take on Tangledeep
The presentation emphasizes polished 16-bit visuals and broad accessibility, but the core remains a challenging roguelike dungeon crawler. Adventure Mode removes permanent death, yet the changing labyrinth, tactical battles, character systems, and repeated runs still define the experience.
What is Tangledeep?
Tangledeep is a turn-based roguelike dungeon crawler set in a world of underground villages and a mysterious route to the surface.
Players explore procedurally generated and handcrafted floors, fight monsters, complete quests, and collect items across changing environments. The game includes 12 jobs, more than 100 skills, three modes, and over 10 modifiers that alter difficulty or play style. Monsters can be captured, raised as pets, or bred in the Monster Corral. Item Dreams add randomized mini-dungeons for powering up equipment, while banking and magic trees allow some progress to carry between characters. Daily and weekly challenge runs include leaderboards. Steam Workshop supports player-made content, and the game runs on PC, Mac, and Linux with keyboard, mouse, and controller options.
