The cozy presentation gives less prominence to the game's combat and quest variety. The journey includes creature battles, stealth attacks, damage-focused forms, and disputes to resolve, so its scope extends beyond a purely gentle exploration adventure.
What is Taival?
Taival is a cooperative adventure RPG for up to four players, combining local split-screen and online participants in one session.
Players explore a handcrafted voxel-style world, follow narrative quests, and investigate the destruction of the Henki’s Heartstone. Henki absorbs creature essences and adopts forms with different combat and traversal abilities, such as absorbing damage, climbing cliffs, or attacking from concealment. Exploring more of the world unlocks additional forms and skills. Character progression includes combat abilities and fishing levels, while Henki gains creature forms and mount abilities. Quests range from helping villagers resolve disputes to fighting creatures. During important decisions, all players see the same dialogue and can indicate preferred options with their cursors.
