Our take on String Tyrant
The game’s card-combo combat and stealth tools make encounters a matter of managing threats rather than relying on fighting alone. That focus comes with a constraint: players who want combat to stand on its own may find the need to hide, listen, and navigate traps interrupts the action.
What is String Tyrant?
String Tyrant is a survival horror game about escaping a mysterious manor filled with monsters and traps.
Players explore the building, listen for enemies through doors and walls, and use doors to break line of sight. Combat uses magical cards that can be combined into attacks. Traps and environmental hazards add obstacles, while uncovering the manor’s secrets is part of finding a way out.
Defeat by a monster or a trap turns the player into one of the manor’s residents, who then hunts former companions. The game includes multiple enemy and doll types, equipment, and the rest of the story beyond the opening phase. A free demo covers the first phase and includes one enemy type, three doll types, and two endings.
