Our take on Static
The focused tower setting gives the investigation a contained structure, but the trade-off is a short overall runtime. Two endings add a discovery target, while the less obvious alternate route may not be found during a first completion.
What is Static?
Static combines psychological thriller elements, escape-room challenges, and investigation in a first-person adventure.
The setting is a futuristic tower in Umbriol that the protagonist designed, including its artificial intelligence and layout. After waking in the penthouse, the protagonist finds the building empty except for its AI manager and investigates what happened to the residents and why the tower is filled with static. Ten floors contain spaces connected to the people who lived there, with objects placed throughout the rooms for exploration. The game includes voice acting, horror elements, and a story connected to the Ashes of Kanaka universe. Completion takes roughly 2–4 hours and includes two endings, with the alternate conclusion requiring less obvious steps to discover.
How Static plays
- 01Ten-floor tower
- Each level presents spaces associated with the residents who once lived there.
- 02First-person exploration
- The viewpoint allows the tower and its rooms to be examined freely.
- 03Resident investigation
- Exploration reveals what the residents were working on and what led to the events in the tower.
- 04Two story endings
- A second conclusion is available, but its route is deliberately difficult to identify.
- 05Voice acted narrative
- The protagonist’s story includes voice talent as part of the Static 2.0 update.
