Our take on Startopia
Its defining structure is the torus-shaped station layout, which presents the play area from an unusual circular viewpoint while management unfolds across three decks.
What is Startopia?
Rebuild abandoned space stations and return them to standards accepted by different alien species.
Attract inhabitants, draw on their expertise, and research new technologies while overseeing a society with friendships, rivalries, crime, punishment, recreation, and an economy. Each station contains 16 habitable subsections across three decks. The bio-deck allows landscape editing and ecosystem management for terraforming. A torus-shaped play area provides a distinctive viewpoint over the station. Play ranges from a simple sandbox to detailed station micromanagement. Multiplayer supports up to three other stationmasters. The game also presents varied challenges through its alien populations, station facilities, social systems, and research activities.
