Our take on Heavenly Bodies
Rather than treating space as a setting for straightforward movement, the game makes weightlessness itself the central challenge. Progress involves coordinating a cosmonaut’s limbs to handle equipment and complete careful station duties.
What is Heavenly Bodies?
Heavenly Bodies is a physics game about controlling a cosmonaut in weightlessness.
Using the left and right thumbsticks, players move the cosmonaut’s arms to push, pull, and climb through simulated situations aboard a research station. Tasks include assembling space telescopes, maintaining solar arrays, and researching cosmic botany, with radio contact from mission control. Missions can be played solo or in local co-op, and online with a friend through Steam Remote Play Together. The movement system is intended for a dual-analog controller. Keyboard and mouse controls can be rebound, though the vendor says they do not provide the intended experience. Players can customize control-mode difficulty. The visual style draws on 1970s space photography and technical illustration.
