Our take on Star Renegades
The repeated cycle of losing a squad, carrying knowledge forward, and starting in another dimension is central to the game, but the store copy gives less attention to how much that loop shapes the overall experience.
What is Star Renegades?
Star Renegades is a roguelite strategy RPG about resisting the Imperium across procedurally generated dimensions.
Each campaign uses mission-based progression, shifting priorities, emergent events, equipment, and squad upgrades. Battles are turn-based and center on interrupts, counters, and combos. An Adversary system creates enemies and bosses that evolve during play and can advance through the ranks. As heroes fall, surviving characters can form bonds and create alternate characters through progeny. When a campaign is lost, J5T-1N carries knowledge into another dimension, giving a new group of heroes a chance to continue the resistance. Each playthrough uses a different combination of missions, events, enemies, and priorities.

Quasimorph also uses a high-stakes roguelike structure, but centers on corporate contracts, extraction, and retaining mission gains for a PMC. Inkbound combines turn-based roguelike play with a story-focused setting, character classes, and movement within its combat system, while Star Renegades emphasizes squad bonds, reactive counters, evolving enemy officers, and procedurally shifting missions.
