Our take on spaceBOUND
The shared tether makes cooperation central, but it also removes room for individual mistakes: one astronaut's death or a broken connection ends the run for both. The severe difficulty and hazardous physics create a narrow margin for experimentation, especially during solo play.
What is spaceBOUND?
spaceBOUND is a puzzle-platformer set in zero gravity, where two astronauts explore an abandoned mining facility after their ship crashes on an asteroid.
Their shared oxygen tether links their survival: if one astronaut dies or the connection breaks, both are lost. Players navigate motion- and physics-based puzzles, avoid hazards such as lasers, saws, turrets, and gravity beams, and progress through increasingly demanding challenges. The game supports solo play and local co-op for two controllers. Hidden collectibles, character skins, achievements, and a Time Trial mode add optional goals. Five boss stages test reflexes and cooperation. Its presentation uses 16-bit artwork, effects, and an ambient score influenced by classic action and science-fiction games.
