Space Mercenary Defense Force is a sci-fi action roguelike about resisting an alien invasion and destroying its mothership.
Each run lets players fit directional ship slots with modules covering explosive, defensive, deployable, beam, and other functions. Branching upgrade routes offer over 600 upgrades, while optional encounters such as miniboss fights and conduit charging provide rewards and additional ship levels. Timed hazards include off-world targeting, atmospheric lightning, and solar flares. Credits can be spent on ships, skins, and permanent Astral Upgrades. Objectives also unlock ship perks and Celestial Modifiers, creating persistent progression alongside the choices made during individual runs.
