Our take on Sodaman
Rather than centering its build system on conventional weapons or magic, the game makes soda the source of character abilities. Its roguelike progression also combines cocktail-making, cybernetic body upgrades, card decks, and spaceship downtime within the same run-based structure.
What is Sodaman?
Sodaman is a bullet-heaven roguelike about a supersoldier battling alien hordes with soda-based abilities.
Runs involve selecting powers from seven soda colors, combining them into custom cocktails, and pairing them with weapons for different builds. Character development includes six body-part categories and more than 30 cybernetic augments. Dozens of power-up cards can be assembled into a deck, while exploration spans different planets and unlocks additional weapons, sodas, cybernetics, and cards. Between runs, the spaceship provides a place to meet characters and explore more of the game’s setting. The story follows Sodaman’s search for surviving sodas after the Sodacalypse leaves most of them flat and tasteless.
