Play it if you…
Good fit- Action-adventure players who want possession mechanics and fast host changes
- Players interested in neon urban settings and mysteries involving human-mimicking monsters
- Players who prefer combat combined with infiltration and investigation
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a quiet or low-intensity experience may find the battles and monster hunts too confrontational.
- Players looking for a conventional hero with a fixed body may not suit the possession-based structure.
- Players seeking a climbing puzzle game or a runner-shooter may prefer alternatives built around those formats.
Our take on Slitterhead
The possession system supports infiltration and continued combat, but it removes the consistency of controlling one fixed character. Movement, identity, and fighting depend on changing human hosts, while stronger abilities are tied to specific Rarities.
What is Slitterhead?
Slitterhead is a battle action-adventure game set in Kowlong, a crowded neon city where monsters imitate humans.
Players control Hyoki, a memoryless entity without a body, while pursuing the creatures called Slitterheads. Hyoki can take over human hosts, use them to pass barriers, assume particular identities, and move quickly through the city. Combat turns human life force into blood weapons, and host changes allow Hyoki to continue fighting after severe injuries. Certain allies, known as Rarities, have a strong connection with Hyoki and provide stronger attacks and abilities. Investigation involves finding these allies, infiltrating organizations, and following the mystery surrounding Hyoki and the monsters.
How Slitterhead plays
- 01Human Possession
- Hyoki can control human bodies to cross obstacles, adopt specific identities, and enter restricted areas.
- 02Host Switching
- Rapidly moving between possessed people supports fast travel and lets combat continue when a host is badly hurt.
- 03Blood-Based Combat
- Hyoki converts a host's life force into weapons for confronting the Slitterheads.
- 04Rarity Allies
- Special human partners with strong synchronization grant access to stronger attacks and additional abilities.
- 05Urban Investigation
- Progress involves locating allies, entering dangerous groups, and investigating the origins of Hyoki and the monsters.
