Our take on Siegecraft Commander
Rather than treating a fortress as a collection of independent defenses, the game makes its structure a tactical liability: towers extend from one another, and a destroyed link can bring later constructions down. Its campaign and multiplayer also shift between real-time and turn-based play.
What is Siegecraft Commander?
Siegecraft Commander combines fortress construction with siege combat.
The single-player campaign follows either the Knights of Freemoi or the tribal Lizardmen through connected stories. Missions involve attacking prebuilt enemy fortresses, defending against enemy waves, expanding a base, and destroying structures that produce opposing units. Multiplayer supports real-time and turn-based matches, with local hot-seat and online play. Each side must destroy the opponent’s central Keep by extending a network of towers from existing structures.
When a tower falls, structures connected to it can collapse as well. Players aim projectiles such as TNT barrels and cluster mines at ground units and buildings. Tower types have different roles, including producing foot soldiers and defending against air units. Matches can include optional rules, different maps and modes, and AI opponents.
