Is Worbital worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want real-time artillery battles rather than turn-based combat
- Groups seeking online or local multiplayer space warfare
- Players who enjoy experimenting with varied weapons and environmental destruction
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a character-driven campaign with leveling, loot, or role-playing progression
- Players who prefer predictable battlefield layouts over gravity-driven shots and cascading planetary destruction
- Solo players looking only for a single-player experience, since multiplayer is a major part of the available modes
Our take on Worbital
Its focus on chaotic artillery exchanges sacrifices the character progression and loot systems found in role-playing games. The same gravity and destruction mechanics that create tactical surprises also make outcomes less predictable than conventional strategy battles.
What is Worbital?
Worbital is a real-time space artillery strategy game in which each player controls a planet.
Build support structures, select weapons, and fire across a changing gravitational field to damage enemy worlds. Shots can curve through space, while weapons and effects include asteroids, black holes, solar flares, railguns, lasers, magnets, shields, attack ships, and colonizers. Planetary destruction can trigger wider chain reactions, including the destruction of the sun. The game includes online multiplayer, split-screen multiplayer requiring a gamepad for each participant, single-player skirmishes, a single-player campaign, and custom-rule matches. It presents a fictional, chaotic interpretation of space warfare rather than a realistic simulation.
How Worbital plays
- 01Gravity-Based Artillery
- Projectile paths can be altered by moving gravitational forces between planets.
- 02Planetary Construction
- Players develop their worlds with support structures and weapon loadouts.
- 03Destructive Chain Reactions
- Destroyed planets may damage other worlds, and the sun can also explode.
- 04Multiple Game Modes
- Modes include online and split-screen multiplayer, two single-player formats, and custom rules.
Worbital compared to similar games
Worbital centers on real-time planetary artillery, gravity-altered shots, construction, and multiplayer matches. Anomaly: Warzone Earth instead uses a reversed tower-defense structure in which players fight an alien invasion across near-future Earth. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened combines cooperative action RPG play with tower defense, including loot, leveling, pets, and character customization.
