Our take on Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
Instead of keeping the player in a single combat role, the game alternates between on-foot shooting and piloting machines that can swim, strafe, and transform into hovertanks. Its two-ending campaign also gives the shooter format a branching-story element.
What is Shogo: Mobile Armor Division?
Shogo: Mobile Armor Division is an anime-inspired first-person shooter set on the planet Cronus and the UCA flagship Leviathan.
As Sanjuro Makabe, a Mobile Combat Armor pilot and UCA Security Force commander, the player must locate and assassinate Gabriel, the leader of the terrorist group known as The Fallen. Combat takes place on foot or inside several types of giant mech. These machines can run, duck, strafe, swim, or change into a fast hovertank. The story centers on control of Kato, an energy source found only on Cronus. Levels include open spaces and urban areas, and the campaign offers two possible endings.
