Our take on Shards of Infinity
Players may bounce off when the game’s deckbuilding system becomes central to army creation and attack timing. Those expecting direct control over individual battlefield units may hit that wall at the point where recruiting faction members and instantly deploying mercenaries determine the action.
What is Shards of Infinity?
Shards of Infinity continues the Ascension deckbuilding series in a world devastated by fragments of a broken Infinity Engine.
Its warped remnants have ruined much of the planet. Players gather forces by adding allies and champions from four distinct groups, assemble armies, and send mercenaries into combat without delay for unexpected strikes. The goal is to overcome opposing forces and restore the Engine through control of the Infinity Shard. The game accommodates two to four participants, with online matches and local pass-and-play. A solo mode pairs one player with computer-controlled opponents. Each session is listed at 30 minutes.
