Our take on Sentinels
Combining tower placement with direct shooting divides attention between managing defenses and fighting enemies. This hybrid approach gives up the single-focus structure of a dedicated tower defense game or shooter in favor of mixing tactical decisions with direct combat.
What is Sentinels?
Sentinels combines automated tower defense with shooting in a first-person shooter.
Players place defensive structures, operate manual devices, use special abilities, or shoot enemies themselves. The game includes more than 20 structures, weapons, and special tools, along with persistent upgrades and item modifications that can affect damage, targeting range, and blast radius. Three modes offer different structures and roles: Skyguard focuses on tactical defense, Onslaught supplies structures for continuous action, and Sentinels combines shooting with tactical decisions. More than 30 enemy types include stealth units, healers, and shield generators. Five commanders have distinct abilities and unit modifications. Maps contain multiple encounters with changing layouts and enemy properties, while Endless Mode features continuing enemy waves.
