What is Sector Unknown?
Sector Unknown is a solo-developed, isometric science-fiction RPG.
The story begins with a prison escape and a crash landing on Maku, where a mining facility becomes a base of operations. From there, the player visits planets with separate factions and story arcs while opposing Star Frontier, a corporation controlling the sector. Character creation includes an origin, personality trait, six physical attributes, and combat and non-combat skills such as Engineering, Science, Persuasion, and Piloting. Progression can involve combat, diplomacy, or other skill-based approaches. Base activities include crafting weapons, armor, shield generators, narcotics, injectors, and starships from more than fifty materials. Research trees, bounty contracts, planetary alliances, fleets, and a War Score add strategic layers.
