Our take on Scampr
Scampr departs from familiar open-world expectations by replacing realistic environmental rules with a goldfish’s flawed idea of Earth. Flying whales, transforming acorns, and a squirrel-led rescue task shape the setting, while exploration extends into a nighttime world and an underwater laboratory.
What is Scampr?
Play as a squirrel in an open-world rural hamlet created by aliens from a goldfish’s memory of Earth.
The setting follows unusual rules: whales fly through the air, and acorns become miniature giraffes. The main task is to find and release the lost goldfish while activating animals by throwing acorns at them. Exploration includes collecting acorns, climbing trees, running along fences, disabling forcefields, and riding one or two whales. Other areas and activities include a nighttime world, an underwater laboratory, and sites containing artifacts from ancient civilizations. The game combines a peaceful environment with surreal creatures, altered natural rules, and several locations to explore.
