Our take on Rolling Line
The bounce point arrives at the sandbox itself: players expecting a campaign, fixed objectives, or a tightly directed train simulator may run out of structure once the initial layout-building novelty fades.
What is Rolling Line?
Rolling Line is a model railway simulator focused on building layouts, operating trains, and exploring miniature railways.
Players can place tracks, terrain, scenery, signals, level crossings, overhead wires, and electrical systems in a sandbox environment. Trains include diesel, steam, and electric locomotives, with freight and passenger wagons that can be loaded, unloaded, or moved as physics objects. Official layouts and more than 7k community layouts are available through Steam Workshop, along with more than 20k mods and liveries. The game supports solo play, public or private multiplayer, and LAN sessions. It runs on PC without VR or with supported VR headsets, and allows exploration at human scale or from inside miniature train cabs.
