We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR players who enjoy building custom rail layouts instead of following fixed tracks
- Train fans who want to drive through networks they construct themselves
- Creative sandbox players who prefer open-ended construction and traffic management
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a story-driven campaign or objectives beyond building, driving, and traffic control
- Players who want fast action rather than repeated layout construction and train management
- Players without access to virtual reality hardware
Our take on TrainerVR
The bounce point arrives when a simple track layout must become a functioning network. Players who do not enjoy arranging increasingly complex structures, accounting for physics, and managing several trains to avoid crashes may stop there.
What is TrainerVR?
TrainerVR is a virtual reality train construction game based on physics.
Players assemble tracks ranging from simple layouts to large rail networks, with routes that can connect, rise, descend, cross, and loop. Trains can then be placed on the structures and driven through the created network. The building process involves arranging increasingly complex structures while accounting for physical forces. Once a layout is complete, players can add multiple trains and take the role of a traffic controller, directing movement and avoiding crashes. Some included models are licensed from Google Poly under CC BY.
How TrainerVR plays
- 01Track construction
- Create layouts that range from basic rail sections to complex networks with crossings, loops, and changes in elevation.
- 02Train driving
- Operate trains within the rail structures built in the virtual environment.
- 03Traffic control
- Place multiple trains and manage their movement while attempting to prevent collisions.
- 04Physics-based building
- Construct growing structures while dealing with physical forces during assembly.
