Our take on Rogue Star Rescue
Instead of treating a roguelite shooter as a sequence of combat rooms, the game adds tower-defense preparation, branching planetary routes, rescueable allies, and outcome-based progression. Its persistent leveling also departs from the temporary power growth commonly associated with roguelikes.
What is Rogue Star Rescue?
Rogue Star Rescue combines bullet-hell shooting with tower-defense planning in a roguelite campaign.
Players travel across 10+ planets, choose routes, rescue teammates, collect resources, and prepare traps for end-of-level mini-bosses and enemy waves. Traps can slow, block, push, spike, burn, freeze, or shoot, then be upgraded for later encounters. The game includes solo play, online co-op for up to 4 players, and local co-op for 2 players on a shared screen. Persistent leveling grants attribute points for strength, speed, health, traps, and luck. Players can discover hundreds of items, use guns and grenades, and unlock heroes, buddies, and multiple endings through different decisions. Three difficulty modes are available.
