Our take on Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder™
Instead of presenting historical periods as serious backdrops, the game turns them into surreal obstacle courses for rolling boulders, with destructible scenery, animated humor, and art-based bosses. Its multiplayer tracks can also intersect, disrupting the usual separation between competing routes.
What is Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder™?
Rock of Ages 2 combines boulder racing with tower defense across stages inspired by Egyptian, Late Gothic, Early Renaissance, and Surrealist art.
Players roll different boulders downhill, damage environments, and confront defensive units, including new units and boulders with special traits. Local split-screen and online multiplayer support up to four players in 2v2 matches, with intersecting tracks and customizable unit banners and colors. Boss battles feature works of art brought to life, including The Thinker and the Great Sphinx, leading to a final boss encounter. Humorous animated scenes accompany the historical settings. Upgraded physics add more objects that can be cracked, crushed, flattened, or slammed. The Steam version includes a soundtrack.
