Our take on Yakuza 0 Director's Cut
The “definitive edition” framing gives equal weight to story additions and multiplayer, but the page also notes a practical separation from the original: save data cannot carry over between versions. Existing owners may receive a discounted digital copy.
What is Yakuza 0 Director's Cut?
Set in 1988, this action-adventure RPG follows yakuza Kazuma Kiryu and cabaret manager Goro Majima through interconnected events in Tokyo and Osaka.
Each character can switch among three fighting styles and use fists, improvised weapons, and other attacks against enemies. Outside combat, activities include discos, darts, SEGA arcade games, and cabaret clubs. The Director’s Cut adds new cutscenes covering character histories and important incidents. Its Red Light Raid mode supports online cooperative play, with 60 playable characters fighting groups of enemies. The Director’s Cut and the original Yakuza 0 use separate save specifications, so save data cannot be transferred between them.
