Is Relativity worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- HTC Vive owners who want motion-controller exploration
- Puzzle-adventure players who enjoy changing terrain to make routes
- Players interested in gravity-based movement across floors, walls and ceilings
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking conventional ground-based movement may hit a wall when routes continue across walls and ceilings.
- Players wanting a purely combat-focused game may find the emphasis on exploration, route creation and stealth limiting.
- Users without HTC Vive hardware are not the intended audience.
- Players who prefer fixed movement controls may bounce off the choice between teleportation and trackpad travel.
Our take on Relativity
The bounce point arrives when movement leaves the floor: players must adapt to routes that continue across walls and ceilings, then use terrain controls to create the next path. Those who want conventional navigation or combat-led progression may stop at this gravity-and-landscape system.
What is Relativity?
Explore a series of linked environments where curved surfaces and stairs let movement continue from floors onto walls and ceilings.
Buttons and wheels reposition lifts, bridges, doors and large landscape sections to create routes. Areas contain teleporters that must be powered before use, with some offering multiple destination choices. Hostile inhabitants include killer robots, face-hugging crabs and dragons; encounters can involve avoiding threats, moving the landscape, using stealth or firing a laser pistol. The game is built for HTC Vive and uses motion controllers for interaction. Movement options include teleportation or trackpad controls, allowing either a more stationary approach or a roller-coaster-like transfer between surfaces.
How Relativity plays
- 01Gravity-Shifting Movement
- Curved paths and stairways support travel across floors, walls and ceilings.
- 02Reconfigurable Landscapes
- Controls can reposition lifts, bridges, doors and large sections of terrain to open routes.
- 03Multiple Encounter Options
- Hostile creatures can be bypassed through terrain changes, stealth or laser-pistol combat.
- 04Powered Teleporters
- Connected areas use teleporters that require activation, and some locations provide more than one destination.
- 05Adjustable Movement Controls
- Teleportation and trackpad-based movement provide different ways to transfer between surfaces.
Relativity compared to similar games
Jusant focuses on climbing a tall tower, managing stamina and choosing routes, while Relativity centers on gravity-shifting movement and rearranging landscape elements. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, whereas Relativity uses linked environments, powered teleporters and motion-controller exploration.
