Our take on Reformers
The bounce point is the character system: players expecting to choose a fixed career may hit a wall when the game instead leaves that role open and makes monster-alliance combinations central to combat.
What is Reformers?
Reformers is a retro role-playing game with a storyline influenced by Picasso’s “Guernica.
” The game uses traditional turn-based combat and gives the player character no fixed career. Its Soul Alliance ability allows a Reformer to make contracts with monster souls, fight alongside them, and take them as servants. Different combinations of the player character and allied monsters can produce unexpected battle effects. The story follows conflicts involving Prokade Castle, the Stiake Kingdom, nobles, and a purge of people who can ally with monsters. The player becomes a Reformer involved in efforts to save the world, collect monster souls, oppose the dark cabal, and enhance the Power of Crystals. The story begins on Halesia Island.
