Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a forgiving health system may hit a wall when one death requires buying a replacement clone.
- Players who prefer unrestricted shooting may struggle with the penalty threshold: hitting scenery or NPCs can end a run after 40 points.
- Players seeking a long campaign may find the stated 2–4 hours of gameplay brief.
- Players looking for multiplayer shooting may not find the team-based play they want.
Our take on Red Laser Z
The sharpest wall is the penalty system: the laser can destroy scenery and NPCs, but doing so raises a score that ends the game above 40. Players who tend to fire freely may run into that limit before the alien fights become the main challenge.
What is Red Laser Z?
Red Laser Z is a first-person shooter set on a space station occupied by insectoid aliens.
Play as agent Janine Potts, fight through 10 handcrafted stages, speak with residents, and search for secrets and treasures. The laser destroys targets with one shot, but hitting objects or NPCs adds penalty points; exceeding 40 ends the run. Earn money by hitting enemies, keep a combo by maintaining accuracy, and spend money on supplies, upgrades, or penalty-point redemption. Janine has one life, with up to 5 paid clones available in each stage.
Optional conversations with a special NPC appear in every stage. The campaign saves progress, while Free Play lets players select any stage. The game includes 3 weapons, 2 bosses, and a story involving the station’s alien invasion.
