Our take on QUICAL
Rather than relying only on elimination, this Battle Royale ties respawns and late-match health to a point pool. Players can also shape a loadout by weakening one attribute to boost another, making preparation and resource trade-offs central to the format.
What is QUICAL?
QUICAL is a small-scale, solo Battle Royale FPS for up to 8 players.
Players earn points by defeating opponents, lose half their points when defeated, and can respawn while they still have points. As the play area shrinks, accumulated points become health. Before a match, players can choose a weapon and perks through a loadout system, with no stated limit on the number of loadouts they can create. Perks can be adjusted with trade-offs: lowering one attribute can provide room to increase another or carry more guns. The game centers on managing points and loadout choices to gain an advantage during a match.
How QUICAL plays
- 01Point-based respawns
- Players can return to a match while they have points, but being defeated cuts their total in half.
- 02Shrinking-area health
- Points turn into health when the play area starts contracting.
- 03Custom loadouts
- Players select a weapon and perks before play, and can make as many loadout combinations as they want.
- 04Perk trade-offs
- Reducing one attribute can free room to raise another or equip additional guns.
