Our take on Red Glare
Players may hit a wall when moving bodies after lethal attacks leaves blood trails that enemies can follow. Missions also demand attention to sight cones, flashlights, snipers, weather, and coordinated actions across five characters rather than relying on a single approach.
What is Red Glare?
Red Glare is a World War II real-time tactics game about OSS agents opposing a secret German expedition in South America.
The campaign follows five playable characters across jungle, desert, and snow environments. Missions use changing daylight and weather: darkness shortens most enemy sight ranges, while rain lowers gunshot noise. A tactical pause lets players plan coordinated actions with multiple characters. Enemies can track blood left by bodies moved after lethal attacks, while poison syringes and wire kills avoid bleeding. The enemy roster includes tanks, dogs, and snipers, and maps can contain more than 200 enemies. Alongside the story campaign, the game includes five challenge maps.
How Red Glare plays
- 01Day and Night
- Darkness changes enemy visibility, while flashlights and sniper units retain special detection advantages.
- 02Changing Weather
- Rain reduces the sound produced by gunfire during missions.
- 03Tactical Pausing
- Players can queue coordinated actions for several characters while the game is paused.
- 04Blood Trail Tracking
- Enemies may follow blood left when bodies are moved after knife or gun kills.
- 05Five Challenge Maps
- Separate challenge scenarios accompany the main story campaign.
- 06Large Enemy Groups
- Maps may include more than 200 enemies, including tanks, dogs, and snipers.
