- Players who prefer brightly lit settings, since darkness can limit visibility during exploration
Our take on Deceased
The mansion-focused design keeps the investigation concentrated on one setting, but it gives up the environmental variety of games built around multiple locations. Progress also depends on searching for objects and clues, making exploration and puzzle solving the main form of interaction.
What is Deceased?
Explore an abandoned mansion in first-person, free-roaming 3D as Seth Cooper, an old friend visiting Dr.
Jackson Hofstadter after a long absence. The story takes place in 2010 and follows the mystery surrounding Dr. Jackson and his family. Search rooms for useful objects and clues, collect important items, and solve puzzles while trying to find a way out. The mansion’s darkness can restrict visibility as the investigation progresses. Visions connected to the past reveal parts of the family tragedy and may provide information for solving the mystery. The game remains focused on the mansion and its surrounding area, with a fictional story inspired by the developer’s actual village.
