Our take on Railroads & Catacombs
The card system and train crew create several layers to manage, but the journey remains centered on surviving the labyrinth. That focus leaves less room for activities outside combat, card combinations, and train-related duties.
What is Railroads & Catacombs?
Railroads & Catacombs is a card-building roguelike about constructing a train and exploring a labyrinth.
Players create cards from scratch and add upgrades, then combine two of six combat styles across more than 120 card upgrades. Combat allows close-range attacks or ranged spellcasting, with positioning used to engage enemies. Sinister creatures and bosses stand between the crew and survival. The locomotive is linked to 12 types of carriages and serves as a refuge while searching for a safe place. Players assemble and manage a crew, choosing from five classes suited to combat or train-related tasks. Finding card combinations and surviving farther into the labyrinth are central aims.
