Is Fantasyland worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy action RPG combat across staged dream scenarios
- Fans of surreal stories that blur dreams and reality
- Players who want to switch between heroes with different movement and attack speeds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a single continuous protagonist may hit a wall when each dream introduces a new hero.
- Players looking for a calm or lightly stylized presentation may bounce off the dark scenes, blood, explosions, and tense music.
- Players who want a broad open-world structure may find the six dream chapters more constrained.
- Players who do not want character acquisition tied to battles or DLC may reject the progression system.
Our take on Fantasyland
The bounce point arrives when the game shifts heroes between dreams. Players attached to one character, or looking for a stable progression path, may lose interest at that handoff, while the dark effects and combat intensity create a second hurdle.
What is Fantasyland?
Fantasyland is an action RPG set across six dream stories inspired by Dream of the Red Chamber.
Each story introduces a new hero, and reaching the objective unlocks access to the following dream. Heroes differ in attack and movement speed, while battles can provide stronger characters; a character can also be obtained through DLC. Enemies use AI during combat. The game presents familiar but altered environments with dark scenes, smoke, blood, explosions, particle effects, and changing music. Its narrative focuses on shifting boundaries between dreams and reality, with players fighting enemies that may also represent themselves.

Fantasyland compared to similar games
