Good fit- Turn-based tactics players who enjoy planning an army before battles
- Roguelike fans who want unlocks to carry across multiple runs
- Strategy players who like choosing between distinct playable species
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed campaign structure may find the procedurally generated expeditions less suited to that preference.
- Players who prefer battles without run-ending stakes may find morale loss and expedition failure a restrictive fit.
- Players looking for a real-time tactics game may not want turn-based combat.
Our take on Quinterra
The army-building and drafting systems make preparation and in-battle choices central, but morale adds a failure condition: losing too much can end an expedition. That makes the run structure less forgiving than a tactics game where battles stand alone.
What is Quinterra?
Quinterra is a turn-based tactics game with roguelike progression.
Before battle, players choose elites, minions, equipment and crystals for an army assembled aboard an airship. During combat, a drafting mechanic lets them add upgrades. Expeditions cross five distinct domains, where morale matters: losing too much can end an expedition. Players can choose among five species: Lycans, Imps, Crystalians, Ethereals and Clockworks. Maps, enemies and rewards are generated with random variations between expeditions and encounters. Progress across runs unlocks species, units, talents, loadouts and difficulty modifiers.
How Quinterra plays
- 01Army Loadouts
- Choose elites, minions, equipment and crystals before an expedition, with morale at stake if too many losses accumulate.
- 02Five Species
- Select from Lycans, Imps, Crystalians, Ethereals and Clockworks.
- 03Run Progression
- Further runs can unlock units, talents, loadouts and difficulty modifiers as well as species.
- 04Generated Encounters
- Maps, opponents and rewards vary through random generation across expeditions and battles.
