Our take on Project Gunship
Rather than placing players in a ground-level shooter, Project Gunship centers the action on operating an AC-130 from the air. Its focus is historical gunship combat, with scenarios and point-defense modes instead of a conventional campaign structure.
What is Project Gunship?
Project Gunship is a single-player simulation of AC-130 combat, covering gunship variants from the Vietnam era to the present day.
Players can fly the AC-130A with miniguns and cannons or the AC-130J with an autocannon, howitzer, and Hellfire missiles, and customize the experience. A thermal camera view is used to observe and engage targets, alongside engine sounds, crew radio chatter, and weapon audio. Scenarios include realistic missions and point-defense modes. The AI makes decisions based on circumstances rather than following fixed scripts, so scenarios can play out differently between sessions. The game is in early access, with limited current features and ongoing development.
