Our take on GHOST: AC-130 Close Air Support
The focused gunner perspective keeps the play loop centered on aiming, target selection and scoring, but sacrifices narrative development, progression and mission variety. The current package is built around two repeating wave levels rather than a broader campaign structure.
What is GHOST: AC-130 Close Air Support?
GHOST: AC-130 Close Air Support puts the player at the aircraft’s gunner station.
Its current version offers two stages where hostile forces keep reappearing and scores are tracked. The aircraft is equipped with 25mm and 40mm cannons plus a 105mm howitzer, with each weapon serving different target types and circumstances. Night operations rely on thermal cameras that support white-hot and black-hot display settings. Presentation follows a simulation format, while the shooting uses arcade conventions. There is presently no narrative, advancement system, or standard death state; however, firing on allied units can terminate a session. Crew voice lines come from recorded Air Force mission transmissions. A campaign is listed as a planned addition.

GHOST: AC-130 Close Air Support compared to similar games
Zero Caliber VR is a VR shooter with a single-player and cooperative campaign, cross-play player-versus-player modes and native mods, while GHOST centers on solo AC-130 gunner play across two endless wave levels. The two listings therefore differ in both setting and structure: infantry-focused VR modes versus fixed-gun aerial shooting.
