Our take on Posthuman: Sanctuary
The game’s shifting map and conditional encounters trade a fixed, predictable route for runs shaped by exploration and choices. That structure may appeal to players who value variation, but it gives less emphasis to repeating the same sequence of locations and events.
What is Posthuman: Sanctuary?
Posthuman: Sanctuary is a single-player RPG set in a near-future Europe after political errors and class conflict have brought civilization down.
A survivor travels toward the Fortress with a team, searching for resources and facing mutants in ruined locations. Exploration gradually reveals a map of terrain and encounters, with players shaping its layout each run. Turn-based fights put the group’s skills and safety decisions at the center. Wounds can cause mutations, which may change how followers regard the survivor and open options unavailable to humans. Branching narrative encounters respond to conditions such as weather, health and location. The game combines combat, team management and exploration with interactive fiction, and draws on the world of the Posthuman board games.
