Our take on Pocket Rumble
The beginner-focused presentation can obscure the amount of competitive structure included here: character-specific meters, frame data, counterpicks, ranked play, leaderboards, and detailed training tools give the game more depth than its minimal-control premise suggests.
What is Pocket Rumble?
Pocket Rumble is a 2D fighting game built around two-button controls, simplified special-move inputs, short combos, and a direct health system in which every character has 12 HP and each hit deals 1 damage.
Characters have distinct meters and mechanics, while visual indicators and an on-screen frame-data bar explain move properties. Players can switch fighters after losing a round. Offline modes include Arcade, local or CPU Versus, Career tournaments, Lessons, and Training with hitboxes, save states, dummy recording, and other options. Online play includes Ranked matches with Elo ratings, leaderboards, character rankings, and rematches, plus Friendly matches that do not affect rank. The game also includes GGPO netcode for online multiplayer.
