Our take on Pixel Descent
Its defining structure is the tension between holding a position against large monster groups and continuing forward before a threatening force arrives.
What is Pixel Descent?
Pixel Descent is an action rogue-lite about descending through changing dungeons filled with monsters.
Runs use a single life, while permanent upgrades carry progress between attempts. The game combines holding ground against large enemy groups with pushing forward before a dangerous force appears. It includes more than 20 playable characters, over 10 themed floors, and more than 50 handcrafted maps selected from a pool and altered with randomized enemy types, key locations, and entrances or exits. Levels offer multiple routes, and combat uses twin-stick controls with bullet-hell attacks. Keyboard and mouse controls, gamepads, control rebinding, and several aspect ratios are supported. Local co-op accommodates 1–4 players and can be played online through Steam Remote Play.
