Our take on Dungeon Death
Rather than preserving a run after defeat, the game makes death restart the attempt. Its changing parties and deeper-floor structure place repeated dungeon descents at the center of the experience.
What is Dungeon Death?
Play as one of the king’s defenders in a 2D roguelike platformer set in a dangerous dungeon.
Each run uses a different party, while progression continues through deeper floors containing rooms, monsters, loot, and bosses. Characters can gather artifacts and buy items from a mysterious merchant. The objective is to reach the dungeon lord and defeat him on the king’s orders. Death ends the current attempt and sends the game back to the beginning, making repeated dungeon descents part of the structure.
How Dungeon Death plays
- 01Run-based structure
- A death returns the game to its starting point, while each new party differs from the previous one.
- 02Dungeon progression
- The party moves through increasingly deep floors while searching for the dungeon lord.
- 03Artifacts and shopping
- Runs include collectible artifacts and item purchases from a mysterious merchant.
- 04Monster encounters
- The dungeon contains multiple rooms populated by monsters and bosses.
Dungeon Death compared to similar games
