Our take on PictoQuest
The RPG framing includes enemies, bosses, items, and missions, but the main activity remains solving number-clue grids. Combat is part of the journey rather than the central play loop, making the role-playing elements secondary to puzzle progression.
What is PictoQuest?
PictoQuest is a grid-based logic game with a light RPG structure.
Players read numbers along each grid’s edges to solve puzzles while guiding two young heroes on a quest to recover Pictoria’s legendary paintings. Progress follows a world map, with animated enemies and artefacts appearing along the route. Encounters include regular enemies and bosses, and enemies can deal heavy hits. Gold can be spent in a shop on magic items when a puzzle becomes difficult. Villagers offer special missions during the journey. The goal is to reach the end of the map by completing puzzles one at a time.
