Our take on Overseas
The collection is framed as a journey with an obscure meaning, but its own description says there is no usual story and no challenge. The emphasis is on noticing connections between disparate images and sounds, so the experience depends on interpreting those associations rather than following a defined plot.
What is Overseas?
Overseas brings together four brief art-focused games, framed as digital poems and linked through a common setting that resembles a spacecraft.
Each episode lasts roughly 5–15 minutes and concludes with an ending. Instead of familiar objectives or a standard plot, the collection asks players to travel through separate worlds and notice connections between their sounds and images. Tlön places shifting objects in a hallucinatory jungle, changing form when no one observes them.
La forêt transforms its woodland environment as players look around and allows a tree to be planted, causing an unsettling sequence of events. Sacred Grove explores shamanic ideas and humanity’s bond with nature. Chernodyrsk / Black Hole City portrays a person facing an identity crisis while roaming a rundown district.
