Our take on Overfall
The page emphasizes runs that differ and stories players can create, but the core journey still follows a fixed goal: finding the lost king. The Story Builder adds quest creation, while the main campaign is framed around that search.
What is Overfall?
Overfall follows two heroes as they cross changing seas in search of a missing king.
Each expedition creates a new world with branching narrative events, while heroes can die permanently. Battles take place on grids, emphasizing movement, combo attacks, and cooperation between classes. Encounters with rival factions offer peaceful negotiation or fighting, and reputation influences the reactions of different races. Adventures grant classes, weapons, trinkets, and abilities that remain available on subsequent quests. The roster includes nine heroes, 36 allies for combat, more than 80 enemy types, and over 100 destinations. A Story Builder also allows custom quests to be made and shared with the player community.
How Overfall plays

- Choices between negotiating and plundering affect how races respond to the party.
- 02Carryover unlocks
- Classes, weapons, trinkets, and skills discovered in one adventure remain available on later quests.
- 03Quest creation
- The Story Builder supports creating quests for sharing with the community.
- 04Tactical grid combat
- Positioning, combos, and class synergy shape turn-based fights.
