Tamako wakes in an unfamiliar room surrounded by funeral-like photographs of her relatives and a letter apparently written by her grandmother.
She searches for a way out while investigating unusual rituals, strange forms of worship, and the feelings preserved within her family’s history. Exploration takes place through traditional Japanese housing presented in a nostalgic visual style. Progress requires finding keys, collecting letters and other clues, and examining the environment to understand why Tamako was brought there and what the room’s owner intended. The game has no enemies or battles, so observation and interpretation form the central activities. Choices affect Tamako’s fate and can lead to multiple endings. The story is presented from a first-person perspective for a single player.
