StrategyIs Ophidia worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy arcade-style creature-eating games with direct controls
- Players seeking a short-form action game built around growing by consuming enemies
- Players who want either an endless sandbox mode or a timed survival challenge
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for combat based on a broad set of attacks may find the core loop centered on encircling enemies.
- Players who want extensive campaign variety may hit a limit after exploring the five worlds and defeating their bosses.
- Players seeking a large roster of enemy types may find 12 types too limited.
Our take on Ophidia
Players who want a varied combat toolkit may hit a wall when encounters rely on circling foes to consume them. The same central action drives growth and combat, so anyone expecting a changing set of attack systems may find the loop repetitive before reaching the later worlds.
What is Ophidia?
Play as the Norse Ouroboros, sent to cleanse the world tree Yggdrasil by consuming its creatures.
Encircle enemies to devour them and grow longer; foes have different movement and attack patterns. Travel through five worlds and defeat their bosses to progress. The game includes 12 enemy types and four bosses. Zen Mode offers an endless sandbox version of any level, with enemies that continually respawn. Timed Mode challenges players to consume enemies and extend their survival time. The Steam version also includes controller support.
