RPGIs Operation Sniff worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy first-person games built around opposing objectives
- People seeking a solo game where they control a dog completing tasks
- Pairs who want a one-on-one match with dog and human roles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a detailed single-player campaign with a stated sequence of missions may find the described task structure too limited.
- Those who want cooperative play may hit a wall in confrontation mode, which assigns opposing roles rather than shared objectives.
- Players seeking a larger group match may find the one-or-two-player scope restrictive.
Our take on Operation Sniff
The clearest sticking point is the role split in confrontation mode: one player controls the dog and the other the person, with opposing goals. Players looking for cooperative tasks may hit that wall as soon as the match begins; solo play instead centers on completing the dog’s assigned tasks.
What is Operation Sniff?
Operation Sniff is a first-person experience for solo play or two participants.
Alone, the player controls a dog, handles assigned objectives, and may face computer-controlled opposition. In the head-to-head mode, one participant plays the animal while the other acts as the human, with both able to pursue goals or attack the opposing side. Dog objectives involve interfering with human schemes, creating disorder, locating required items inside a house, and taking out a designated target. The human’s objectives include completing plans, stopping the agent, and protecting confidential information. The game supports object manipulation, weapon use, and direct physical actions such as kicking the dog or spitting at the human.
How Operation Sniff plays
- 01Dog and human roles
- The dog searches a person’s house and disrupts plans, while the human pursues plans and tries to stop the agent.
- 02Object interaction
- Characters may grab and toss items, wield weapons, and carry out physical actions tied to their roles.
- 03Solo and versus play
- Single-player play supports AI opposition, while confrontation mode pits a human-controlled dog against a human-controlled person.
